2009 Youth Fall Field Hockey- 3rd through 6th grade
Necessary Equipment
Each player will need to have field hockey/lacrosse goggles, a field hockey stick, field hockey shin guards and a mouth guard. Players will not be allowed to practice or play games without ALL necessary equipment. Players should also come to games and practices with weather appropriate clothing, water and a snack. Equipment can be purchased at the Andover Hockey Shop, Play it Again Sports and Thunder, as well as Sports Authority and Dick’s Sporting Goods.Youth Field Hockey Team – 5th and 6th Grade
Our 5th and 6th grade program is coached by Pam Roche. This will be our second year with this great coach at the helm of our 5th and 6th grade team. This program will be a balance of learning and competition. The girls will be introduced to the rules and skills of field hockey through drills, practices and scrimmages. They will also play a few games against North Andover, Wilmington, Chelmsford and any other town we can find to play.
Practices and most games for this group will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6:30pm at Andover High School. Your first practice will be held on Tuesday August 8th. The season will run until Saturday October 31st when the girls participate in the Andover Invitational.
The girls will receive t-shirts and shorts for their uniform. These items will be theirs to keep. The sizes that you put down on your registration form will be the size you receive.
Youth Field Hockey Clinic – 3rd and 4th Grade
Our 3rd and 4th grade program is coached by everyone’s favorite Andover elementary school teacher Laura Rex. This program will be based in fun and learning.
