2009 Summer Sports Clinics
Speed Town: Are you a serious athlete that wants to get an edge on the competition this fall? If so, come train with Coach Comeau and Coach Price to get a preseason base before your fall sport begins. The focus will be on running, circuit training, enhancing speed mechanics, and improving agility. If you have a need for speed and want to leave the competition in the dust, then this is the clinic for you. Open to all boys and girls in grades 6-12.
Get to the goal Lacrosse camp: A lacrosse clinic for girls entering grades 2 through 10. This clinic will be held in two sessions, a defensive session from July 20-24 and a Day Camp session from July 27 through the 31 at the new turf field at AHS. Times for both sessions are 9:00 to 2:00. Pick up the registration forms at the Pearson St AYS office.
Lazer Lax Lacrosse Camp: A lacrosse clinic led by AHS varisty coach, Wayne Puglisi, for boys in grades 1 through 8 from July 13th through 17th from 9:00-2:00 at the AHS turf field. Pick up the registration forms at the AYS office.
Summer Ultimate Frisbee Clinic: Aug 18-20 @ South School from 9-1 each day. This clinic is for boys and girls aged 11-16, beginner and intermediate players. Cost: $70 includes tshirt and a disc. Sign up through the AYS summer booklet, trip #66.
Happy Gilbert School of Golf: Thursdays July 16th through August 20th from 3-5pm. AYS golf coach and AHS varisty golf captain Dave Gilbert will lead this weekly lesson at Rolling Green Golf Course. He will cover everything from the basic grip styles to the intricacies of your golf swing. Register in person at the Pearson St office. $15 per week.
Field Hockey:
In the summer of 2009 the youth services are supporting the Lauren Ciampa memorial field hockey clinic. This clinic will be August 11-12 at the Andover High School Turf. The cost is a $40 donation to the Jimmy Fund. For more info, see the website for this good cause.
