The youth services summer program has grown from 10 kids sitting in a dark mat room sweltering in Doherty's gym to an extensive compilation of programs, trips, clinics and events for over 6,000 participants. Daily excursions from the end of June though mid August are offered for Andover's youth who have completed 6th-9th grades.
Here's a taste of programs and trips that have been offered in past summers: Six Flags, White Water Rafting Overnight, Hampton Beach, Water Country, Windsurfing, Canoeing, Surfing, Walden Pond Kayaking, Boys and Girls-only overnights to Martha's Vineyard, Bromley Alpine Slides, Overnight and day hikes, Red Sox games, Wild Utah (high school), New Orleans rebuilding (high school), 6th grade only trips, Lacrosse and field hockey clinics and so much more.
